Texas Chainsaw Massacre

There’s a part where two characters get out of their car and comment that the town they’re in has “all the joys of late-stage capitalism”. I thought that was pretty rich for a sequel made 50 odd years after the original movie, which also has the exact same title as that original movie. Why is that something that films just do now?

The characters don’t have any character, the set design is nonsense and the film is just generally pointless. It doesn’t add anything to the original, and it doesn’t stand on its own merit either. I don’t understand how anyone thought this was a good idea.
